History[]
The collapse of major world economies during the 2040s led to severe economic decline within Angola. In 2051, a democratic uprising began to overthrow the oppressive and communistic government that had failed to alleviate the economic woes taking place within the general populace. The civil war was rather quick and in 2053, a democratic and capitalistic government was instated, led by Chancellor James Daako. From 2057-2083, the people of northern Namibia peacefully protested to join with their Bantu brethren in Angola, which, after a referendum, was a right granted to them by the then sovereign Namibian government. In 2085, Nambia, like the Botswana in 2079, fell to South African military forces. Since 2088, the Zambia-Zimbabwe Accord has been pleading the Angolan government to aid them in their war against the Republic of South African. Until recent times, the government has maintained a neutral attitude towards the RSA. However, with the election of the current Chancellor, Vorsah Kufuor, Angola has aligned itself against the RSA and other threats to African peace.
